Split releases

A split release is owned by the creating band but shared with one or more invited bands. Each band contributes their own recordings to the track list. The release appears in every participating band's discography.

Creating a shared release

The workflow for a split or compilation:

1. Create the release from your Band Studio (you become the owner)
2. Set the release type to "Split" or "Compilation"
3. Invite other bands to participate
4. Wait for them to accept the invitation
5. Each accepted band adds their recordings
6. The owner organizes the final track order and publishes

Inviting bands

Search for bands on the platform and send them a collaboration invitation. They'll receive a notification. Once they accept, they gain access to add their recordings to the shared release.

Managing shared tracks

As the owner, you control the final track order and the publish action. Participant bands can add and manage their own recordings but cannot modify other bands' contributions or publish the release.

Tip: After publication, a participant cannot unilaterally leave the release. Changes require the owner to manage the workflow.
